Slow SQL Server Management Studio in Vista Operating System

Problem

It is very slow when you try to open a remote database using SQL Server Management Studio in Vista operating system.

Solution

Disable TCP Auto-Tuning.

Open Command Prompt with administrator's privileges
Type the following command and press Enter:

C:\>netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled

Reboot the computer
